FTIC/Lower-Division Transfer Student Terms of Orientation Agreement

Please note: The following terms are outlined in the orientation registration process and should be read before completing orientation registration in order to ensure understanding and compliance of orientation guidelines and expectations.

  1. I have read and understand all of the information available on the New Student & Family Programs website (dos.fsu.edu/nsfp).
  2. I understand that the freshmen/lower-division transfer program for summer/fall admits (May-July ONLY, not August or Spring sessions) includes on-campus student housing for two nights in a residence hall (confirmed location will be e-mailed once your reservation is complete). Your program will be two nights and two days. Check-in for orientation/housing will occur between 7:00-8:30 pm on the first evening (example: If your session is May 18-20, you would check-in between 7:00 pm-8:30 pm on May 18). For Spring freshmen/lower-division transfer students, your program is one day in length from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  3. I understand that full orientation participation is mandatory for all new degree-seeking undergraduate students. Therefore, I should not make plans to leave before my assigned session is complete. I will be unable to register for my courses until I have fully completed orientation.
  4. I understand that the University highly encourages each student to have at least one family member attend orientation with the student so the family can gain information and be best prepared to help the student transition to the University. I acknowledge that the student schedule is sometimes separate from the family schedule. Family member housing is not provided during any orientation sessions.
  5. All orientation participants must adhere to University policies while on campus. Orientation students have a strictly enforced curfew (May-July orientation sessions only), which requires them to be inside the orientation residence hall by 11:00 pm. New students violating the curfew, another University policy, or the law will be removed from the orientation program and campus immediately. These students will be subject to the student conduct process as outlined in the Student Conduct Code and the outcome may result in loss of admission to Florida State University. If removed from an orientation session, students will need to attend another session at their own cost.
  6. I understand that the University requires each student to submit Health History/Immunization Compliance Forms and complete the Health Insurance Verification process before they will be able to register for classes at the conclusion of orientation. These two items should be completed as soon as possible. The Health History/Immunization Compliance Forms can be downloaded at http://uhs.fsu.edu. The online Health Insurance Verification process can be completed at http://studentinsurance.fsu.edu/.
  7. I understand that orientation reservations cannot be held without payment.
  8. I understand that space at each orientation session is available on a first-reserve basis until sessions have reached their maximum capacity and I accept that sessions may close at any time.
  9. I understand a confirmation e-mail will be sent to me (the FSU student via my official FSU e-mail account) once my orientation fees have been paid and I should not make lodging or travel arrangements until I have received a confirmation e-mail or contacted the University to confirm my reservation was successful.
  10. I understand that all orientation fees are non-refundable.
