2016 Seminole Send–Off Events

Seminole Send-Off Hosted by Your Seminole Club Each summer, incoming Florida State students are invited to attend a Seminole Send–Off hosted by your local Seminole Club or Chapter. Seminole Clubs are an extension of the FSU Alumni Association. These events are a great way to learn about life at Florida State and meet other FSU students from your area.

Seminole Clubs and Chapters typically host a Seminole Send-Off in May or June. We encourage you and your student to participate as we celebrate their admission to Florida State, prepare for the fall semester and welcome them to the FSU community!

Family Weekend — A Weekend for Every Family!

Photo of parents on campus with their student As we celebrate the start of spring, Florida State invites families to Tallahassee to see their students and participate in a number of activities available to the campus community. This is an especially unique time to visit your student and the university community because of all of the great things happening in the capitol city.

Unlike Parents' Weekend in the fall semester, Family Weekend has three weekends which are packed full of activities — too many for us to choose just one — so we encourage families to choose which of these weekends fits their interests, schedules, and convenience. These weekends are traditionally the first three weekend is April.

There is no registration process or registration fee required to attend. Simply view the calendar of campus and community event and attend what you'd like!

As the Spring Semester approaches, view the Spring Family Weekend website to learn more about this opportunity to reconnect with your student.

Be sure to visit this page & read our What's Going 'Round newsletters for updates on future events!

FSU Great Give Campaign

FSU DSA supports the Family Fund - FSU Great Give The Great Give is a 36–hour fundraising campaign that take places entirely online and through social media. The campaign inspires friendly competition between departments and programs around the university to see who can raise the most money for their respective funds. There are also special competitions within the campaign called "Incentive Hours" in which the fund with the most number of donations gets extra money towards their fund that does towards their fund total. We invite you to partner with Family Connection to raise money to support the FSU Family Fund! The Family Fund was created by families as a means for us to give back to FSU in a meaningful way. All funds raised for the Family Fund go directly to services on campus that benefit all FSU students. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @FSU_Family or "Like" our Facebook Fan Page during the Great Give campaign to get updates and learn more about how you can help support Family Connection and the Family Fund.

FSU Day at the Capitol — Celebrating FSU in the Capitol City

FSU Day at the Capitol FSU Day at the Capitol is an annual event celebrating Florida State’s many accomplishments both in and out of the classroom. Dozens gather inside the capitol and outside on the plaza for the daytime celebration that includes performances by the Flying High Circus, Marching Chiefs and FSU cheerleaders. Displays and information booths representing the university’s academic programs and research centers offer more insight into the numerous opportunities at Florida State. FSU alumni who are currently serving terms as senators and representatives in the Capitol are also recognized at this event.

The FSU Family Connection program is also in attendance at this event in order to take the opportunity to educate families and other members of the Tallahassee community on our programs and services.
